MBG PROGRAM

MBG Program – Free Nutritious Meals for Indonesia

The MBG Program, initiated by President Prabowo Subianto in early 2025, is a flagship national initiative providing free nutritious meals to school-aged children, pregnant women, and new mothers. With an initial target of approximately 19.5 million beneficiaries in 2025 and a total expected reach of nearly 83 million by 2029, MBG represents a bold investment in human capital and rural economies.

Objective

The MBG Program seeks to reduce child stunting and malnutrition, enhance learning outcomes, and improve maternal health by providing millions of Indonesians with consistent access to nutritious meals. Beyond health, the program also strengthens food security and creates measurable social impact by empowering local farmers and cooperatives.

Starting with 26 provinces in 2025 and expanding nationwide by 2029, the program will reach up to 83 million beneficiaries through a sustainable financing model in partnership with BGN, local operators, and strategic partners.
